Explore Carrick-on-Suir is looking for 3 creative practitioners to bridge the gap between the past and the present! Creative Tides is a brand-new commissioning programme inspired by the unique stories of Carrick-on-Suir and the Tides of Time Visitor Centre.

Each artist will receive €250 to support the work’s research, creation, and presentation. The exhibition will overall feature works serving as contemporary interpretations of Carrick-on-Suir’s heritage, identity, memory, and place.
This application is for Creative Tides a new open-call commissioning programme by Explore Carrick-on-Suir. We invite artists and creative practitioners to submit proposals for original works that creatively respond to the stories, themes, and heritage of Carrick-on-Suir and the Tides of Time Visitor Experience.

🎨 Open Call – Artists Wanted
Explore Carrick-on-Suir is inviting three artists to create an original response inspired by the stories, spaces and collections of Tides of Time Visitor Centre.
Whether you work in visual art, music, spoken word, performance or another creative medium, we’d love to hear how the exhibition inspires you.
Selected artists will each receive a €250 commission, with the new showcase taking place during Heritage Week on:

We look forward to celebrating a wonderful fortnight of creativity across Carrick-on-Suir and supporting the incredible programme of arts events taking place throughout August.
Application deadline: 16th July
Once the three commissioned artists are selected, we will collaborate and check in with you to support your creative process as you build and refine your work. Final pieces must be ready for setup during our venue install week. Everything culminates in our live showcase event, where you will showcase your 8–10 minute creative response and join fellow artists for a short panel discussion and audience Q&A.
The Event: Present your original work (8–10 mins) at our official launch event (date TBC) and join an artist panel Q&A (15–20 mins).
Who Can Apply: Musicians, writers, visual artists, filmmakers, dancers, and interdisciplinary creators. Open to local, national, or international practitioners at any career stage.’
