Mirador Media Win Tender to Deliver New Experience

Mirador will transform the Heritage Centre into an immersive cultural destination

Carrick-on-Suir Heritage Centre announced the appointment of Mirador Media as the creative team behind the development of the new Tides of Time visitor experience, a landmark project supported through the EU Just Transition Fund and administered by Fáilte Ireland.

This is a major milestone in the transformation of the Heritage Centre into a modern, immersive and community-driven cultural attraction to celebrate the unique heritage, stories and identity of Carrick-on-Suir and the wider Three Counties region.

Mirador Media’s creative team of Marc and Mook, Svën’s artefact work, and Beulah’s inspiring writing culminated in the design and delivery of the interpretive experience, bringing together storytelling, interactive technology, sound, visuals and local narratives to create a vibrant new visitor journey through the Heritage Centre.

The Tides of Time project will feature immersive audio-visual installations, oral history recordings, dynamic exhibition spaces and interactive elements designed to connect visitors with the rich history and culture of Carrick-on-Suir. The redevelopment will also include flexible community and literary spaces for events, performances and cultural programming.

Mirador Media’s creative vision and collaborative approach made them the ideal partners for this ambitious redevelopment.

The project aims not only to enhance the visitor experience but also to create a living cultural space shaped by local voices and community participation, while supporting tourism growth and regeneration in the town.

Mirador Media’s involvement brings new energy and innovation to the Heritage Centre while respecting the deep historical significance of the site, which has long stood as an important symbol of heritage and community in Carrick-on-Suir.

The Tides of Time experience is scheduled for completion in May 2026 and is expected to become a major cultural attraction for both local audiences and visitors to the South East.

Corporate Sponsorship Appeal from 1989

When Michael Coady wrote Heritage and Hope in 1982, he imagined St. Nicholas’ Church transformed into a living cultural space — a place of memory, creativity, research, storytelling and community connection. He believed the site could become “the informed setting for a dynamic present and a confident future.”

Today, that vision lives on through the Tides of Time Experience.

The restored church now welcomes visitors into an immersive journey through the people, stories and spirit of Carrick-on-Suir. What began as a hopeful appeal for restoration has evolved into a vibrant heritage destination that honours the town’s past while creating new opportunities for culture, tourism, education and community life.
